HARS Aviation
Museum

Australia’s most spectacular aviation museum — where you don’t just look at the aircraft, you walk through them.

About HARS

Unlike any museum you’ve visited

The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) museum is unlike others you may visit. Because the hangars are active working facilities, admission includes a guided tour — meaning you experience the aircraft up close with an expert escort, not from behind a barrier.

The collection spans everything from vintage warbirds and propeller-driven airliners to cold war jets. Many of the aircraft are still airworthy — you may even see restoration work in progress during your visit.

Located right at Wollongong Airport, HARS is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and families alike.

Walk through history

From a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet to WWII warbirds, the HARS collection is one of the most remarkable in the southern hemisphere. Guided tours run twice daily and take you right inside the aircraft — not just around them.

The HARS Café

The HARS Café sits right inside the museum precinct, offering a relaxed spot to refuel before or after your tour. With views across the airfield and the escarpment beyond, it’s a unique spot for a coffee or a bite.

The café is open on museum days and serves light meals, snacks and beverages. [Update with café hours and menu details when available.]
